THE CHARACTER

Character Name: Bigby Wolf.
Series: The Wolf Among Us.
Canon Point: The end of Episode Four (In Sheep's Clothing).
Character Age: Unknown; appears to be in his thirties physically, at least several centuries old mentally.
Background: ❝ then i'll huff, and i'll puff and i'll. . . ❞

Personality:
An overused but necessary disclaimer is needed before delving into Bigby Wolf's personality, and that is the fact that The Wolf Among Us is a Telltale Games... uh, game. A lot of what he does in the plot is based on player choice, therefore making facets of his personality and development a determinant. The good news is that he shares a lot of similarities to his canon counterpart in the Fables comic book series, leaving the important bits unchanged regardless of what happens.

Bigby Wolf is known in his world by fellow Fables as the Big Bad Wolf of the fairy tales that Mundies (aka us) know so well. This, as you may expect, leads to a rather complicated past where his decisions as a wolf lead him to living out a redemption arc that he never quite reaches. His dark, bloody upbringing shapes who he is now, which may or may not be for the best. There are many in his life that know him as nothing more than someone or something hellbound on terrorizing them. Even when reformed, Bigby can still sometimes make good on those fears. For the most part, however, he holds a deep willingness to try and make up for the pain he's caused, leading him into the role of sheriff of Fabletown.

This role is as important to his character as is the Big Bad Wolf. Where-as a towering beast bearing its teeth represents the fable, the title he holds as the singular member of law enforcement in a community filled with supernatural myths represents the human. ―Or at least, that's what he hopes to achieve. Centuries of killing hundreds, if not thousands of people, both good and bad, leaves him in quite a deep hole that he slowly but surely tries to climb out of. Some remain skeptical of how much he has really changed, and even more feel better avoiding him altogether. This is a double-edged sword for Bigby, as it frustrates him to no end seeing his hard work invalidated while also using the stigma that follows him to get his job done, as he likes to put it, "the easy way or the hard way".

The fact that he doesn't have any particular preference towards doing something the "easy way" or the "hard way" says a lot about the burden of being both human and beast. He enjoys helping people that actually need it, and he enjoys beating the blatantly withheld information out of a criminal almost equally. Although Bigby has presumably lived on as a human for a fair amount of time, there is always a constant hunger for the hunt. For him to prey on someone more deserving of his attention than some innocent who had been unlucky enough to cross paths with him out in the woods. He constantly battles and weighs the consequences of letting that side out, which often results in others having a hard time assuming how he will handle a particular situation. An example would be how he can possibly smash a glass against the side of The Woodsman's head in one interaction, only to offer him a cigarette amicably in another.

Juggling these two sides while working obscene hours and dealing with the aforementioned bullshit of other Fables will turn just about anyone into a permanent state of grumpy. On a good day, he is a cynical wise-ass with one too many slick words hanging on his tongue, and on his worst, he is the standard definition of an asshole. His constant mingling with the many colors of personalities in Fabletown has none-the-less turned him into a smooth conversationalist when he makes a point of being one, not to mention tolerant and capable of dealing with even the strangest of characters to a degree. There are a few deemed worthy enough of him bearing a soft spot for them, with Snow White being right on top as one of the only people he endears and prioritizes above all else.

Regardless of it being a good day or bad, though, no one can complain about his work ethic. It may be a bit ironic considering the number of crimes he's committed long ago, but he is wholeheartedly dedicated to his job of upholding the law. Bigby respects the amount of responsibility he holds in his position as sheriff, which is to ensure that the Fables remain unknown to the Mundies around them while also handling the many, many problems that occur within. Domestic abuse, thievery, illegal use of drugs and Glamours, even the rare murder ― whatever the problem may be, he answers every call regardless of the hour even when aware that he will never be recognized or appreciated for it. Lack of sleep is likely another big reason he looks to have a permanent case of RBF.
Powers/Abilities:

β–  LYCANTHROPY / TRANSFORMATION ― This is how Bigby is able to hold a human appearance without the use of a Glamour like most other non-human Fables. Thanks to Snow White cutting him as a wolf with a lycanthropy-stained knife, he is now able to transform at free will, although he does have the misfortune or literally being triggered into going through said transformations. There are four forms altogether:
β—† HUMAN FORM ― The form he makes a point of being in the most, for obvious reasons. He lives his day-to-day as a human as opposed to a wolf. Fighting with him while in this form would be akin to going toe-to-toe with just another guy, although he is still musclebound and packs one hell of a punch, let alone capable of taking one.
β—† HALF-WEREWOLF FORM ― This is how you know he's pissed off. Bigby goes into this form for any number of reasons, but it is normally to contend with fellow Fables that hold some sort of supernatural strength. Bigby develops nails, sharpened teeth and a layer of fur with yellow eyes to indicate his primal transition. All senses are enhanced and he is evidently stronger, faster and has an even higher pain threshold.
β—† WEREWOLF FORM ― Bigby loses just about all of his human features sans the fact that he still stands on his legs. Imagine your typical werewolf as he grows much taller and fur envelops his entire body. His parameters are strengthened even further in this form.
β—† WOLF FORM ― Also known as the Big Bad Wolf. Just as threatening and powerful as the stories say. He stands over twelve feet tall in this form even when on all fours. Bigby gains the unique ability of blowing powerful gusts of wind that equates to the force of small tornadoes while he is a full-on wolf.
β–  NEAR IMMORTALITY ― Fables share the unique property of growing stronger and being able to withstand more pain based on how often they're talked about by Mundies. Bigby is capable of taking an insane amount of abuse without being phased, with even the most violent of attacks knocking him out at worst. He can take upwards to 40 shotgun blasts to the chest without so much as falling over. The many negative side effects of smoking and drinking does nothing to effect him, either.
β–  REGENERATION ― Paired with the whole "near immortal" part, Bigby heals up at a much faster rate than others and only the most severe wounds linger on him for longer than a few hours. When he has arm completely fractured by Bloody Mary, he is capable of setting it back into place himself so that it is able to heal. Bullet wounds and gashes heal almost instantaneously.
β–  ENHANCED SENSES
β–  INVESTIGATIVE / DEDUCTIVE
β–  PROFICIENT IN INTERROGATING

Power Nerfs (if applicable): None of Bigby's powers seem especially game-breaking, but if they appear to need a nerf, it would most likely involve his final wolf form. Depending on how the mods would like to handle it, he could either be limited as to the amount of time he spends in that form or not have access to it at all from the beginning. There can also be a restriction as to the powers of his gusts of winds to ensure he can't do too much damage. Please let him go full furry tho.
