[ why is it that Bigby always has uninvited guests? first it was pigs. well, pig. now he's dealing with women in his private quarters, a place that he is supposed to be able to call home. temporary home, anyway. he has accepted that it would be silly to ever get comfortable in one place, considering how quick he found himself leaving Olympia only to find his home on one end of the newer portion of Wyver. just when he thought that he would be done with roommates, even if just for a little while, he finds himself allowing Aranea of all people to crash at his place.
for good reason, at least. after having been enlisted to help with the distribution of Rosalind's little concoction, both Bigby and Aranea found themselves out until it was late and less people were walking the streets. now they were walking through the front door of his residence, with him grumbling underneath his breath all the while. ]
Maybe should have planned a route or something so you'd be closer to your place.
[ don't mind him. it's just Bigby being Bigby. he motions for her to take off any outerwear she may have on, as he does exactly that with his trench coat. ]
—You know I'm not giving you my bed, right?

THE CHARACTER
Character Name: Bigby Wolf.
Series: The Wolf Among Us.
Canon Point: The end of Episode Four (In Sheep's Clothing).
Character Age: Unknown; appears to be in his thirties physically, at least several centuries old mentally.
Background: ❝ then i'll huff, and i'll puff and i'll. . . ❞
Personality:
An overused but necessary disclaimer is needed before delving into Bigby Wolf's personality, and that is the fact that The Wolf Among Us is a Telltale Games... uh, game. A lot of what he does in the plot is based on player choice, therefore making facets of his personality and development a determinant. The good news is that he shares a lot of similarities to his canon counterpart in the Fables comic book series, leaving the important bits unchanged regardless of what happens.Powers/Abilities:
Bigby Wolf is known in his world by fellow Fables as the Big Bad Wolf of the fairy tales that Mundies (aka us) know so well. This, as you may expect, leads to a rather complicated past where his decisions as a wolf lead him to living out a redemption arc that he never quite reaches. His dark, bloody upbringing shapes who he is now, which may or may not be for the best. There are many in his life that know him as nothing more than someone or something hellbound on terrorizing them. Even when reformed, Bigby can still sometimes make good on those fears. For the most part, however, he holds a deep willingness to try and make up for the pain he's caused, leading him into the role of sheriff of Fabletown.
This role is as important to his character as is the Big Bad Wolf. Where-as a towering beast bearing its teeth represents the fable, the title he holds as the singular member of law enforcement in a community filled with supernatural myths represents the human. ―Or at least, that's what he hopes to achieve. Centuries of killing hundreds, if not thousands of people, both good and bad, leaves him in quite a deep hole that he slowly but surely tries to climb out of. Some remain skeptical of how much he has really changed, and even more feel better avoiding him altogether. This is a double-edged sword for Bigby, as it frustrates him to no end seeing his hard work invalidated while also using the stigma that follows him to get his job done, as he likes to put it, "the easy way or the hard way".
The fact that he doesn't have any particular preference towards doing something the "easy way" or the "hard way" says a lot about the burden of being both human and beast. He enjoys helping people that actually need it, and he enjoys beating the blatantly withheld information out of a criminal almost equally. Although Bigby has presumably lived on as a human for a fair amount of time, there is always a constant hunger for the hunt. For him to prey on someone more deserving of his attention than some innocent who had been unlucky enough to cross paths with him out in the woods. He constantly battles and weighs the consequences of letting that side out, which often results in others having a hard time assuming how he will handle a particular situation. An example would be how he can possibly smash a glass against the side of The Woodsman's head in one interaction, only to offer him a cigarette amicably in another.
Juggling these two sides while working obscene hours and dealing with the aforementioned bullshit of other Fables will turn just about anyone into a permanent state of grumpy. On a good day, he is a cynical wise-ass with one too many slick words hanging on his tongue, and on his worst, he is the standard definition of an asshole. His constant mingling with the many colors of personalities in Fabletown has none-the-less turned him into a smooth conversationalist when he makes a point of being one, not to mention tolerant and capable of dealing with even the strangest of characters to a degree. There are a few deemed worthy enough of him bearing a soft spot for them, with Snow White being right on top as one of the only people he endears and prioritizes above all else.
Regardless of it being a good day or bad, though, no one can complain about his work ethic. It may be a bit ironic considering the number of crimes he's committed long ago, but he is wholeheartedly dedicated to his job of upholding the law. Bigby respects the amount of responsibility he holds in his position as sheriff, which is to ensure that the Fables remain unknown to the Mundies around them while also handling the many, many problems that occur within. Domestic abuse, thievery, illegal use of drugs and Glamours, even the rare murder ― whatever the problem may be, he answers every call regardless of the hour even when aware that he will never be recognized or appreciated for it. Lack of sleep is likely another big reason he looks to have a permanent case of RBF.
■ LYCANTHROPY / TRANSFORMATION ― This is how Bigby is able to hold a human appearance without the use of a Glamour like most other non-human Fables. Thanks to Snow White cutting him as a wolf with a lycanthropy-stained knife, he is now able to transform at free will, although he does have the misfortune or literally being triggered into going through said transformations. There are four forms altogether:
■ NEAR IMMORTALITY ― Fables share the unique property of growing stronger and being able to withstand more pain based on how often they're talked about by Mundies. Bigby is capable of taking an insane amount of abuse without being phased, with even the most violent of attacks knocking him out at worst. He can take upwards to 40 shotgun blasts to the chest without so much as falling over. The many negative side effects of smoking and drinking does nothing to effect him, either.◆ HUMAN FORM ― The form he makes a point of being in the most, for obvious reasons. He lives his day-to-day as a human as opposed to a wolf. Fighting with him while in this form would be akin to going toe-to-toe with just another guy, although he is still musclebound and packs one hell of a punch, let alone capable of taking one.
◆ HALF-WEREWOLF FORM ― This is how you know he's pissed off. Bigby goes into this form for any number of reasons, but it is normally to contend with fellow Fables that hold some sort of supernatural strength. Bigby develops nails, sharpened teeth and a layer of fur with yellow eyes to indicate his primal transition. All senses are enhanced and he is evidently stronger, faster and has an even higher pain threshold.◆ WEREWOLF FORM ― Bigby loses just about all of his human features sans the fact that he still stands on his legs. Imagine your typical werewolf as he grows much taller and fur envelops his entire body. His parameters are strengthened even further in this form.
◆ WOLF FORM ― Also known as the Big Bad Wolf. Just as threatening and powerful as the stories say. He stands over twelve feet tall in this form even when on all fours. Bigby gains the unique ability of blowing powerful gusts of wind that equates to the force of small tornadoes while he is a full-on wolf.
■ REGENERATION ― Paired with the whole "near immortal" part, Bigby heals up at a much faster rate than others and only the most severe wounds linger on him for longer than a few hours. When he has arm completely fractured by Bloody Mary, he is capable of setting it back into place himself so that it is able to heal. Bullet wounds and gashes heal almost instantaneously.
■ ENHANCED SENSES
■ INVESTIGATIVE / DEDUCTIVE
■ PROFICIENT IN INTERROGATING
Power Nerfs (if applicable): None of Bigby's powers seem especially game-breaking, but if they appear to need a nerf, it would most likely involve his final wolf form. Depending on how the mods would like to handle it, he could either be limited as to the amount of time he spends in that form or not have access to it at all from the beginning. There can also be a restriction as to the powers of his gusts of winds to ensure he can't do too much damage. Please let him go full furry tho.

AU HISTORY:
AU PERSONALITY:
Bigby was born as the youngest of seven children to his mother, Winter Wolf and his father, Boreas Wind. Boreas had left his family for reasons unknown to Bigby only a few years after his birth, leading to the passing of Winter from health complications that stemmed from severe anxiety and depression. Due to the number of children and lack of immediate family, he and his brothers were separated and sent to several different foster homes across America. Bigby remained in his native residence of Manhattan, New York, yet did not take to this transition well, finding himself growing into quite the aggressive young lad. He had gotten into many, many fights in his youth, causing him to be shuffled about from home to home with no foster family to take him in.
This continued on well into the years and until he turned nineteen. Breaking who knows how many laws while alluding cops and never being arrested, he kept his bad habits up with no intention of stopping or thinking about the future. Only after having a unique run-in with a young girl did he begin rethinking his place in life. After catching a bunch of hoodlums beating onto what looked like a defenseless lady and using it as a free excuse to break a few limbs, he had thought he was doing his one good deed for a decade. His reward? Promptly being stabbed in the gut by a knife she had hidden and leaving him to bleed out, most likely mistaking him for one of her attacks. All he can remember of that night was that she had flowing, raven black hair and porcelain white skin. A beautiful woman who both nearly killed him and saved his life.
Once Bigby healed and there was nothing but a scar left on his abdomen, he decided for a change in life. He relocated to Recollé for a clean slate in hopes of leaving bad habits behind. Of course he doesn't, because he is helping chase down a mugger who had just stolen a purse from yet another raven-haired woman with porcelain white skin. It is safe to say he half expected another shank as thanks for assisting, but he instead learned that her name was Elizabeth and she had recently moved to the city as well.
Turned out to be a gift that kept on giving, because their relationship steadily grew over several dates and Bigby once again showed that he never quite learned. Practice of the exact opposite of safe sex turned a very young and inexperienced Elizabeth pregnant, leading the both of them on a fast track of acceptance and responsibility. Their feelings towards one another continued to grow even throughout financial hardships and stress, but by the time Jade was born, Bigby enrolled in college and pursued a degree in Criminal Justice. Fast forward several years and he eventually got his Bachelor's, all while raising his daughter with Elizabeth and eventually marrying her in the process.
Bigby quickly joined law enforcement once he had a degree under his belt and became a police officer of Recollé PD. With Elizabeth also having finished her schooling through sheer will and working, he had to juggle the climbing of the ranks while simultaneously tending to Jade during her younger years, attending PTA meetings in her mother's place and running on three hours of sleep a night on a good day. Through hard work and perseverance, Bigby finally got the hard-earned promotion of Detective and has been one for the past few years, working in the Homicide Unit while sometimes lending a hand in other departments.

AU PERSONALITY:
There are not a lot of differences between the Bigby of Fabletown and the Bigby of Recollé due to his field of work and his upbringing. He still smokes and curses an unhealthy amount, and he has fits of anger that are hard to control. That being said, the fact that he has a family and a certain level of support from them has softened him up considerably over the years, especially in regards to having one hell of a spoiled daughter. He is more prone to letting people in as opposed to shutting them out, and he cracks smiles or smirks more often than not. You can still expect a middle finger every now and then, however.
When he knows he and Elizabeth and/or Jade are alone, he is a typical Good Dad that goofs around and lets his guard down. Bigby is as territorial and protective of them as he would be for Snow White, if not more considering that Bigby has made his feelings for them known years upon years ago. He will gladly put himself in harm's way for either, and would be even more glad to harm someone that even thinks to mess with them. Others who have known him for a long time earn a similar level of loyalty, although he hides it under many layers of snark and casualness to keep them guessing.
AU'd Bigby is also just as much of a carnivore and hunter as the Fable, although all hunting is done as a human in as much of a human way as possible ― with guns and fishing rods. He hunts on weekends either with his family or alone and fishes after work when given the time, often bringing home dinner to his daughter's dismay. There's a thrill in the act that gnaws at him as if hunting is where he naturally belongs, but for the most part, it's just a hobby that he enjoys.

AGE CANON The Wolf Among Us FAMILY LINKS STATS Weight: 190lbs. Eyes: Brown. Job: Detective. |
■ Bigby's birthday is April 13th, which is an homage to Disney's The Big Bad Wolf, which was released on April 13th, 1934. ■ Born and raised (by himself) in the Manhattan borough of New York City, New York. ■ The youngest of seven children (all boys, somehow) who Bigby hasn't had contact with since his early teenager days in New York. ■ Bigby knows the foster care system like the back of his hand from the number of homes he's toured as a child who lost his parents. None of them worked out and he eventually lived on the streets for a period of time before moving to Recollé. He had once held a strong bitterness towards group homes but now interacts with foster children and does volunteer work for the system now that he understands its importance. ■ Has a long scar in the form of a knife wound that runs down his abdomen. This is as a result of him doing one last good deed while in Manhattan, having tried to help a stranger with long, black hair that was being robbed only to be stabbed as a way of saying "thank you". This promptly served as a wake-up call for him to get his life together and is the reason why he moved out of New York City to start anew. ■ Recollé is where he meets Elizabeth. The TL;DR version is that they ■ On that same note, Bigby is devoted to his wife and daughter and will literally die for them if needed. Nothing else is more important to him; not even his job. People that know him will likely know this just as well. ■ A workaholic to say the least. He worked longer hours than he needed to for an already demanding job as a Police Officer in his first few years due to higher crime rates back in the day. Even now as a Homicide Detective where people are suspiciously incapable of dying, Bigby will still work well into the evening on wrapping up old cases or helping other departments catch up. ■ He is quite an avid outdoorsman. Bigby adores hunting, fishing and camping an equal amount and will find any attempt to do so on the weekends or holidays. Hunting is his preferred way of putting food on the table, to the point of cleaning, curing and cooking the meat of the animals he kills. One of the bigger purchases he would like to invest in is a boat that would allow him to travel with his family on the lakes in or out of town. ■ Also owns his own heavy-duty dehydrator!! He loves this and it was probably a Christmas or birthday gift from a year or two ago, and it sees a lot of use as he often makes his own beef jerky and thinks of other uses for it all the time. ■ He does not have a creative bond in his body in terms of music and leaves his wife and daughter to bond over instruments and the like, and will never be caught singing unless Elizabeth somehow convinces him or he is in the shower. Bigby does have a hobby of reading detective novels like the walking archetype that he is as well as books in general, and does aspire to writing one of his own by the time he retires from the force. ■ All of that reading and his age has led to the man wielding a very intimidating pair of reading glasses that he often uses at work when reviewing paperwork or... well. Reading. ■ Even though Elizabeth believes in God, the Wolf household is not extremely religious by any stretch of the imagination. Bigby prefers to leave his beliefs vague, actually being quite the superstitious man who considers some myths to have inklings of truth. Concepts like reincarnation and karma also hold some semblance of sense to him and he isn't one to shoot down a particular mindset. ■ Owns (aka still paying for) and drives a 2014 Buick LaCrosse. Drove a banged up, old yet fully paid off sedan for years as a Police Officer when off duty, but when he was promoted, he decided to trade it in and go hard. Elizabeth still doesn't let him down as the purchase was far too expensive for their month-to-month income, but Bigby has no regrets. ■ Being his active life in law enforcement and an avid believer of "never being too safe", Bigby owns a lot of firearms. From rifles meant for hunting to shotguns and handguns, his house is loaded. He is also an even more firm believer of gun safety and has since ensured both Elizabeth and Jade are trained in handling guns and all of them are unloaded with their safeties on. You'd think no one would try and break into their home but. They'll learn their lesson one way or another (Yato). ■ Winter is Bigby's favorite season, specifically when it gets cold enough that it snows. He doesn't particularly understand why other than the fact that it lets him wear his heavier coats, but he has a natural affinity to that time of the year. ■ Bigby is also a very active member of the PTA at Jade's school, partly in thanks to Elizabeth when she started working two jobs. He's somehow roped into letting students do ride along's with him for "educational" purposes but he knows better than that. He takes a small amount of pride that it gives his daughter a few more cool points, at least. |

day 9 ― judy & bigby
[ Bigby's got one last conversation he wanted to be sure to have before the day begins to slow to a halt and curfew approaches. he has an expectation as to how the night will end, and before it does, there are a few questions that he would like to have answered. considering who he wants to ask those questions to, it's yet to be known what he is likely to find out.
he looks for one of the most private terminals he can find and buzzes into the telecom. in a hushed whisper, Bigby calls out to the monotoned voice that has been guiding this entire experiment along. ]
Judy. I need to talk to you.

day 9 ― alfendi & bigby
[ another day, another new part of the complex to explore. the pattern is all too obvious to everyone at this point. they get a day of pointless R&R only for death to follow. being stuck indoors with an ever-decreasing amount of people leaves little opportunity for things to do, so... Bigby checks the places out. imagine his disappointment when he finds it is nothing but a classroom. okay. it's definitely not a media lab or entertainment theater, but it'll do. he takes some time going from desk to desk, flipping through some of the textbooks and clearly looking puzzled at the contents inside.
everything here was trapped in the past, yet the building's technology seemed to have been a bit more hi-tech in comparison. not the first thing that was confusing about the facility, but it was enough to make him flinch with discomfort. recent developments in regards to his memories has caused some trouble for him, to say the least, but he does his best to keep tight-lipped on the matter. the next place he intends on taking a look at would be the indoor garden, but that's put to the backburner when he notices a fellow roommate. Alfendi's either been there and he never noticed (how did he not see the nose??) or just entered, but either way, he gives a proper welcome. ]
Funny running into you here. Not following me around or anything, are you?
[ Bigby's joking, but WHO KNOWS!!! ]

day 9 ― shijima & bigby
This is still a dumb idea, you know. Going from waking up to a fire to half the damn room being a block of ice isn't any better.
[ Bigby is only agreeing to this because of the fact that the apartment had won by majority vote to rig the door with liquid nitrogen. he has seen too much of it the moment he disposed a body with the use of the stuff, but here they are, cramming it into a small ass room and dangling it precariously over a door. Shijima seems to have put enough thought into this to be considerably foolproof, so he doesn't need to be concerned with Alfendi tripping up and damaging his nose further by freezing it.
he hasn't done much yet, letting his fellow non-human roommate get the necessary items ready and tell him when he's needed. as always, his muscles are the only thing of use to her, and even he has little excitement in straining his wounds for this. Bigby's done worse, so he won't complain too much. ]
Tell me when you need a hand. I'll... just sit here, I guess.
[ with a cigarette in his mouth, chewing on the end of it thoughtfully before lighting it. one of his last few. he hasn't bothered asking Shijima if she's been able to demand anymore from the commissary yet. ]

day 9 ― alice & bigby
[ sometimes you have to forget the insanity that is the night before and just learn to remove yourself from the world. Bigby doesn't... really... know how to do that, but he's trying. with how quickly things happen in this place and a pattern showing death every other day, however, he resounds himself to sitting down and trying to relax. the wounds that are still very much healing (with a fresh burn on his leg on top of it) command him to do just that.
he opts for playing pool, but that isn't going to happen. he'll open up his stitches and get berated by the rest of his apartment, emphasis Elizabeth. and... well, he doesn't need any bad conversations today. not today. all he wants is to spend some time with his roommates, the few people he's actually grown to care for.
and as such, both Bigby and Alice are in the entertainment theater. another movie is put on. another cartoon. he noticed she enjoyed them with the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, so he chose something a little less.. triggering. this time it is Pinocchio. they've already gotten to the not-so-settling part involving donkey children. still much better than seeing his animated self looking so damned ugly. ]
Yeah, so. This movie's a little fucked up. Thought you would like it.
[ thinking of u, kid. ]
